Midget Girls

2017 Age Group Coordinator = Kelly Foord - vp-girls@sabrecatslax.com

For those players born in 2001-2002

Sabrecats hope to field 1 Midget Girls team for the 2017 season.

A preliminary schedule will be announced at the end of March 2017.

Please note: requests to play in a division other than that determined by your year of birth need to be sent to the Association President and accompanied by the Exception Request Form found at the end of the Rules and Regulations on the CDLA webite www.calgarylacrosse.com. Granting these requests is done based on three criteria: 1) Medical reasons, 2) Player Safety and 3) Preservation of a program (for example if there are not enough girls to field a team some movement might occur to complete the roster). These requests are an exception and last only 1 year and only if approved by both the association and the Calgary District Lacrosse Board.

Kids should be dressed in their full Lacrosse gear. For complete details on the equipment required you can visit the Calgary District Lacrosse Association website at: http://www.calgarylacrosse.com/Team/teamWeb.dll/PageContent?ContentId=4443&SessionId=24729252048691&co=1

Bantam and Midget Coach Courses (Competitive Introduction) - 2 day clinics - you must attend both days

The Two Day course + Community Development "Trained" status (requirement for Novice and PeeWee is prerequisite) is all that is required for Bantam and Midget to get on the bench in the first year. Prior to March 31st of the following year you must also complete an online workbook and have it marked to satisfaction in order to be considered "Trained" as opposed to "In Training". (We also encourage our coaches to get ahead of the certification levels as you are only allowed to pass one course per year).

In general, most teams are made up of at least some new players at all age groups, so it is never too late to join.
